Kate Schutz

A graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design, the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary, Kate has her BFA in Painting and her MEd. She spends her days engaging kids and teachers in a community setting (mostly museums, and most recently public libraries) and her evenings baking, knitting, reading, sewing, running, practicing yoga and cuddling with her handsome husband, sweet baby and orange tabby cat, Chester. Her paintings are inspired by memories: her own and of those around her. Her work is in private and public collections across North America. She has just begun dabbling in illustration and next on her list in a children's book about cats.  She lives and works out of her 100-year old bungalow in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
